Twenty Thousand Strongmen

Mikee Pruitt – banjo, guitar, vocals, etc. Twenty Thousand Strongmen is… A midwestern grown, old timey folk band that is now based out of Buffalo, NY. Twenty Thousand Strongmen have been playing their honest and soul lifting melodies for over eight years, solo and as a duo and a four piece string band with Cat Glasgow, Gregory Mach, and Anthony DiPasquale.

Twenty Thousand Strongmen have shared the stage with many great artists like Wayne Hancock and William Elliott Whitmore, and have released five albums, three of which were released on Kansas City based record label Little Class Records.

Cat and Mikee have been touring the country from Buffalo to Tucson twice a year for the past five years and visited Europe in April 2017 following their newest release “ Your New Album” in March.

“Your New Album” is by far the best and simplest the Strongmen have ever sounded. Mikee’s Canyon rich voice seems to glide alongside complex fiddle melodies and rhythmic banjo thumpin. These ethereal yet light hearted songs are reminiscent of old souls like Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie while still making original and timeless folk songs that we can all relate to.

Twenty Thousand Strongmen will be performing solo at Reeds and Roots this year!
