What to Bring -Food – Camping – Water – First Aid
Please bring your own chair, sun protection, note-taking tools, possible face mask, and everything you need to be comfortable outside.
Prepare to be outside the whole time you are with us. Please check the weather to plan accordingly.
MAYBE! Please bring your own food. We are currently working on providing food, or having food available for purchase. More to come on that! You may need to provide all your own food. If so, we will have a small fridge available, and organizers would bring cooking equipment and some food to share.
The closest town is Ashtabula, only a 5 minute drive away. Ashtabula has restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, etc.
Please bring your own drinking water. This site does not have any running water.
We will have regular porta-potties and handwashing water available for use. There are no bathing or swimming facilities.
CAMPING. We are camping nearby at Red Beet Row farm because it’s more pleasant than camping at Blakeslee – but you are welcome to camp there too, if you want. Red Beet Row is located at 2889 E Maple Rd, Jefferson, OH 44047. Map point here. It is a 10 minute drive away. We WILL have lights prepped for setting up tents in the dark. We will NOT have someone there during the skillshare. There is an option to pay $20 for a camp site already set-up with a tent. Camping is welcome in either location both Friday and Saturday nights (Sept 16 and 17). Most campers will bring all their own gear. Contact us with any questions.
There IS cell reception.
At past events, we’ve had wonderful medic volunteers for First Aid needs – this event does NOT have such accommodations. Please bring all your own first aid supplies. (note: “First Aid” labeled on workshop map is location of a donated First Aid supply kit – its in outdoor kitchen)
Several of our awesome teachers will be vending – bring cash for the vending booths.
Bring instruments for community jam sessions in the evenings!
Please bring a positive attitude – READ OUR FULL COMMUNITY CARE AGREEMENT HERE
